Welcome to Colchester On-Line, a project brought to you by East Coast Cable; your local cable telephone and entertainment service provider, and KeConnect Internet; your local Internet Service Provider.

The project is the culmination of many months' hard work by the above sponsors and also a group of key bodies in the local community who have offered their advice and expertise; Essex County Council, Colchester Borough Council, Essex Libraries, Colchester Chamber of Commerce, this is essex, In-House Group, and Colchester Institute. 

Colchester On-Line launched on October 26th 1998 with the aim of providing free access to the Internet for the whole community to enjoy. Following the successful launch of Cambridge City On-Line in 1996 and Ipswich On-Line earlier this year, East Coast Cable and KeConnect Internet agreed that Colchester residents should have the same opportunity to surf the net for free at agreed access points around the town.

Using East Coast Cable's advanced fibre-optic network and accessing the Internet with KeConnect, the sponsors and their associates have identified nine surfing points. You can now surf the net and have your own email address at the opposite locations.
